This delightful Rudall Carte was made in 1924. It plays at modern pitch. Padding is very good, the mechanism is accurate, and the flute plays easily. We have looked after this flute for several years, including a recent service. It comes in its original case.

The body is cocuswood, and the mechanism is silver-plated that is in very good condition. Like many vintage Rudall Carte flutes, this example features an open G sharp. This was Theobald Boehm's original intention, and it has several advantages which a modern player might consider worth adopting, particularly as such flutes command lower prices - you get a lot of flute for a relatively low outlay.
