14k gold headjoint and body
Handmade by top maker
Excellent condition
Sales
This superb handmade flute is in excellent condition and has been maintained to the highest level, including the fitting of JS Gold pads. We have maintained the flute for more than a decade. Additionally, in 2018 it was the subject of a full overhaul by Jonathan Landell, who also replaced two steel rods.
The 14k gold body has soldered silver toneholes, all in perfect order. The mechanism is open hole, in-line G, B-foot. The 14k headjoint produces a characteristically strong yet warm sound, with crisp articulation and a wide variety of colours.
Jonathan Landell is one of the most important modern flutemakers. Having trained at Powell, he travelled to London where he met Albert Cooper. Returning to the USA with the latest Cooper scale, he made his first flute, for William Bennett, in 1972. Since then Jonathan Landell has completed more than 180 handmade flutes. This example shows all of this fine flutemaker's skill. It comes in its original case.
